“Design is a powerful communication tool. Using color, typography, images, and layout to create a system that makes information accessible and appealing to people is at the core of what I do.”
An award-winning art director and designer, Joanna has been using her talents and expertise to improve benefits communications for more than a decade. She’s known for being able to see the big picture without losing sight of the details.
At Benz, Joanna co-manages the design department, inspiring our team of designers to do their best work and ensuring that we deliver solutions for our clients that are on brand and meet the project objectives. She was integral to the launch of the UC Care brand—including its website and other communications—and she continues to have a key role in honing the brand’s messaging. Joanna also led the rollout of NetApp’s rebranded benefits website and print deliverables.
Before joining Benz in 2013, Joanna spent eight years at a small San Francisco design firm, where she developed benefits communications materials for large clients such as Pixar and E*TRADE. Her work also included designing brand and marketing solutions for small businesses and nonprofits, including St. Anthony Foundation and Holy Family Day Home. She has received multiple honors for print and web design from the American Advertising Federation, and a website she designed was named “Website Design of the Year” by Shutterbug magazine.
Joanna tries to find time for creativity at home—doodling, sewing, and working on DIY projects. What keeps her busy most of the time is her most precious creation: her young daughter.
