Drawing on her rich experience in the benefits industry—including the many years she spent counseling University of California retirees and employees about all things benefits—Heather manages our marketing and business development.
An adept problem solver known for gracefully changing course and acclimating quickly to new environments and responsibilities, Heather oversees “all things marketing.” She manages Benz’s branding, events, media relations, and website development. Heather coordinates our participation at industry conferences and our contributions to industry media, identifying the events and publications to best showcase our thought leadership.
In her business development role, Heather is the initial point of contact for prospective clients, working hand in hand with our strategic accounts director.
Heather joined our team in 2014 as special assistant to the CEO. In that role she managed Jen’s schedule and travel, accompanied her to industry events and client meetings, and witnessed firsthand the relationship between marketing and business development. Drawing from that experience, Heather transitioned into her current role in 2015.
When she’s away from the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in thoughtful debates (typically assuming the role of devil’s advocate). As a foster mom for senior canines, she’s thrilled that Benz is a dog-friendly office.
