“To me, design is a spectrum from art to engineering. I’m more on the engineering end of that spectrum. I like to take things apart to see how they work, then rearrange them in a way that makes them work even better.”
Since joining Benz in early 2011, Brian has influenced some of our most successful campaigns. His responsive web design for Adobe allowed employees and their families to easily access benefits information at any time, on any device. Armed with that information, 62% of employees enrolled in Adobe’s HSA plan in the first year. He also led the design of a bold and exciting annual enrollment campaign for NVIDIA that resulted in 80% participation—despite enrollment being voluntary.
With a background in theater, Brian knows the value of good storytelling. Whether he’s working with established brands or building new ones, he has a knack for making complex ideas both relatable and compelling. Brian’s keen eye and creative mind help him craft just the right story in just the right medium for each of his clients. He develops web, print, and video projects covering such topics as health savings accounts, financial benefits, and health and wellness.
Along with his client engagements, Brian co-manages the design team, taking the lead on process improvements that allow great work to flourish. He also leads all client and in-house video projects.
A San Francisco native, Brian spends his non-work time with his family, enjoying the many museums, parks, and scenic walks the city has to offer. He graduated from the Graphic Communications program at City College of San Francisco.
